EAST LIVERPOOL - Marjorie F. Brown, 93, of East Liverpool, passed away Monday, January 2, 2023, at The Orchards of East Liverpool.
She was born January 9, 1929, in Toronto, the daughter of the late Charles V. and Flo (Myers) Scott. In addition to her parents, Marjorie was preceded in death on August 16, 1982, by her husband, Paul "Rex" Brown, whom she married February 25, 1950. She was also preceded in death by her son-in-law, Mike McVay, and nine brothers and sisters.
Marjorie graduated from Toronto High School in 1947. She was employed as a waitress for thirty years at Meades Restaurant, Waterford Inn, and Coachman Restaurant. She enjoyed playing cards with her friends and was a sixty year member of the Shanghi Card Club. Marjorie was active in the Wellsville First Christian Church where she had been a member since 1960. She was also active in the Christian Women's Fellowship. Family was everything to Marjorie, and she always wanted her family to be together. She also enjoyed finding and sending the perfect greeting cards to her family and friends.
Survivors include two daughters: Dianne (Joe) Hager of East Liverpool and Connie McVay of East Liverpool; and one son, Charles (Patrice) Brown of East Liverpool. Also surviving are four grandchildren: Larry Madison, Nick (Erica) Brown, Bryan (Heather) Brown, and Lauren (Larry) Higgins; and eight great-grandchildren: Jude, Aubrey, and Deacon Brown, Rorie Jo and Carrie Ann Hager, and Reed, Alice, and Autumn Higgins.
The funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, January 6, 2023, at the Wellsville First Christian Church with Pastor Mark Blakeley of the church officiating.
Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Family and friends may call two hours prior to the service on Friday at the Wellsville First Christian Church, 831 Main Street in Wellsville.
Roberts Funeral Home in Wellsville is entrusted with Marjorie's arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made in Marjorie's name to the Wellsville First Christian Church, 831 Main Street, Wellsville, OH 43968.
