John Edward Wallace

 

HANOVERTON - John Edward Wallace, 79, of Hanoverton, passed away Tuesday, June 14, 2022, at home surrounded by his family.

 

He was born March 14, 1943, in Wellsville, the son of the late Elizabeth (Jones) Danehart. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Beth (Wallace) Cline; and two sisters: Joyce and Paula Jean Wallace. 

 

John graduated from Wellsville High School in 1961, and he served in the United States Army from 1968-1970. He retired from AT&T, having worked for over thirty years as an installation technician. John was a member of the Wellsville Elks Lodge 1040 and the American Legion Post 70. He was an avid softball enthusiast, playing in many different leagues throughout the years. He loved the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Pittsburgh Steelers. John was Protestant by faith.

 

Survivors include his wife, Barbara (Colvin) Wallace, whom he married August 27, 1982; two daughters: Heidi Jo Wallace of Wellsville and Tammy Seevers of Lisbon; one son, Brian Wallace of Wellsville; three sisters: Deena (Jeff) Siegler of Wellsville, Betty Messenger of New Waterford, and Alice Wallace of Beaufort, SC; and three brothers: William (Charlene) Wallace of Canton, Darrell (Susan) Wallace of Beaufort, SC, and Donnie Wallace of Wellsville. He is also survived by two granddaughters: Olivia Cline and Gianna Pecorelli; and one grandson, James Burris III. Also grieving the loss of John is his beloved protector, his German shepherd, Stormy.

  

Family and friends may call from 3:00 pm - 8:00 pm on Friday, June 17, 2022, at the Roberts Funeral Home, 631 Main Street in Wellsville.

 

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
