Jo Ann Messer
WELLSVILLE - Jo Ann Messer, 83, of Wellsville, passed away Tuesday, November 23, 2021, at East Liverpool City Hospital due to complications from Covid-19.
She was born August 7, 1938, in East Liverpool, the daughter of the late Sam J. McConnell and Mayme (Forester) Faris.
Jo Ann graduated from Wellsville High School in 1956. She was employed at a police department and Russell Stover Chocolates while living in Missouri before returning to this area. She was then employed as a dietary aid at Sunrise Nursing Home and most recently as the secretary at Covenant Presbyterian Church where she was also a member.
Survivors include one son, Jim Tipton of Kansas City, MO, and two daughters: Judy Burns of Buckner, MO and Jannie Tipton of Wellsville. Also surviving are eight grandchildren: Josh Tipton, Tarra Callahan, Malori Bickett, Jared Tipton, Jessica Thomas, Chad Burns, Mikelle Williams, and Mikyla Tipton; and eighteen great-grandchildren: Kenadi Thomas, Chase Owings, Graham Thomas, Steven Thomas, Katelynn Owings, Tyler Callahan, Bayley Callahan, Ashlyn Callahan, Tatum Tipton, Zaleaha Douglas, Douglas Douglas II, Oaklynn Bickett, Will Bickett, Vea Bickett, Spencer Bickett, Levi Kroesen, Abreighelle Gerke, and Oakligh Gerke.
A memorial service for Jo Ann is being planned for a later date.
