Grant E. Berkheimer
IRONDALE - Grant E. Berkheimer, 77, of Irondale, passed away suddenly on Thursday, October 7, 2021, at his home.
He was born June 23, 1944, in East Liverpool, the son of the late Arthur and June Berkheimer. In addition to his parents, Grant was preceded in death on July 10, 2014, by his wife, Charlotte "Louise" Berkheimer, whom he married January 14, 1972. He was also preceded in death by three sisters: Sandy Nicholson, Darlene Brubaker, and Sherry Stoll; and one brother, Bill Berkheimer.
Grant graduated from Wellsville High School in 1962 and served in the United States Air Force. He had been employed as a grinder at Summittville Tile. When he wasn't working, Grant enjoyed spending time in his garden and at Mountaineer Race Track.
Survivors include two sons: Ed Berkheimer and his wife, Judy, of Irondale, and Dave Berkheimer of Wellsville; one step-son, Bill Murphy of Amsterdam, OH; five sisters: Marsha McClish, Janet Palmer, Nellie Madden, Nona Hicks, and Debbie Manning; and three brothers: Keith Moore, James Rice, and John Rice. Also surviving are six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 6:00 pm on Monday, October 11, 2021, at the Roberts Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Blakeley of the Wellsville First Christian Church officiating. Family and friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery.
