Junior D. "Pete" Anderson
WELLSVILLE - Junior D. "Pete" Anderson, 77, of Wellsville, passed away Saturday, January 23, 2021, at his home surrounded by his family.
He was born November 5, 1943, in Reader, WV, the son of the late George "Dewey" and Gladys "Pearl" (Brock) Anderson. In addition to his parents, Pete was preceded in death by a grandson, Sean O'Conner; four sisters: Fannie Lakatos, Sarah Powell, Imogene Workman, and Dorothy Sellers; and six brothers: infants Kenny and Bobby, John, Bill, Dudley, and David Dale Anderson.
Pete had been employed as a saggar maker at New Castle Refractories and had also worked at Homer Laughlin China Company. He enjoyed coaching baseball with the West Point Little League. Pete was a member of Grace Baptist Temple.
Survivors include his wife, Hazel "Darlene" (Grimes) Anderson, whom he married December 30, 1965; four children: Edward Anderson and his wife, Cindy, of East Palestine, Kellie Allen and her companion, Rick Mullenax, of Cortland, Thomas Anderson and his wife, Melissa, of East Liverpool, and Dale Anderson of Wellsville; a nephew whom he raised as a son, Marvin Morrison and his wife, Laurie, of Waynesburg, OH; three sisters: Irene Duke of Hannibal, OH, Ilene Raber of New Martinsville, WV, and Geraldine Haught of Reader, WV; and one brother, Burl Anderson of Wellsville. Also surviving are eighteen grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a private family funeral service will be held at the Roberts Funeral Home in Wellsville with Rev. Wayne Cox officiating.
Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery where an outdoor committal service will be held at approximately 1:00 pm on Wednesday, January 27, 2021.
