Mary Kathryn "Kay" Thomas


SALEM - Mary Kathryn "Kay" Thomas, 76, of Salem, formerly of Wellsville, passed away Friday, May 1, 2020, at Salem West Health Care Center following a lengthy illness.


She was born August 2, 1943, in East Liverpool, the daughter of the late Frank and Margaret (Zearley) Jackson. In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her daughter, Tina Thomas; six sisters: Marian Perkins, Betty Korbel, Margaret Dodson, Emma Jean Martin, Phyllis Jackson, and Sally Pinz; and three brothers: Luther Jackson, Ferry Jackson, and Jerry Jackson.


Mary was employed for fifteen years as a waxer for Hall China Company. She was a member of the Wellsville Eagles Aerie 772 and the Wellsville VFW Post 5647.


Survivors include one daughter, Georgene "Gigi" Swan of Wichita, KS; one son, Jerry Thomas of Wintersville, OH; and three sisters: Violet Reardon of East Liverpool, Cynthia Sue Morris of Guilford Lake, and Rebekah Groves of Nashville, TN. Also surviving are five grandchildren: Robert Monigold of East Liverpool, Charleston Swan of Linesville, PA, Amanda Green of Wellsville, Jerry L. "JT" Thomas III, and Kyle Matthew Thomas;; and ten great-grandchildren.

According to Mary's wishes, no services will be held.


Roberts Funeral Home in Wellsville is entrusted with her arrangements.
