Barbara J. Salajczyk

 

CHESTER - Barbara J. Salajczyk, 91, of Chester,WV, formerly of Wellsville, passed away Sunday, December 8, 2019, at East Liverpool City Hospital.

 

She was born August 26, 1928, in Hammondsville, the daughter of the late Marion and Margaret (Stewart) McLain.  In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her brother, Robert McLain.

 

Barbara was a 1946 graduate of Irondale High School and also graduated from the Ohio Valley Business College.  She was an active member of Yellow Creek Presbyterian Church.  Barbara belonged to various card clubs and was once a Girl Scout leader.

 

Barbara is survived by her husband, Thaddeus "Ted" Salajczyk, whom she married May 31, 1952; her daughter, Janis Kell and her husband, Jim, of Chester; one grandson, Eric Kell and his wife, Melissa, of Chester; two great-grandchildren: Dylan Kell and his wife, Casey, of Chester, and Sydney Kell and her fiance, Steven Murray, of Morgantown, WV; one great-great-granddaughter, Riley Kell of Chester; and her special cousin, Melody Smith of Hammondsville.  Barbara also leaves behind her sweet "furbaby", Coco.

 

The funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm on Wednesday, December 11, 2019, at the Roberts Funeral Home, 631 Main Street in Wellsville, with Pastor Frank Lewis of Trinity Parish Presybterian Church officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service.

 

Burial will be in Yellow Creek Cemetery.
