Obituary of Donna Sue Yergin
Donna Sue Cross Yergin
Wellsville - It is with much sadness that we announce the passing of our wife, mom, and Dee Dee, Donna Sue Cross Yergin, on Thursday, September 26, 2019. She was surrounded by love and comfort.
She was born October 22, 1946, in East Liverpool, the daughter of the late Etta (Echols) and Walter Cross, Sr.
Just a short ten days before she passed, Donna lost the love of her life, her husband, Jon Yergin, whom she married November 4, 1967. In addition to her parents and husband, Donna was preceded in death by her grandson, Cason Yergin; her brothers: Walter Cross, Jr., Charles Cross, Terry Cross, and Frank Cross, as well as her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, William and Beulah Yergin, Sr.; her nephew, William Yergin, Jr.; and her in-laws, Larnie and Catherine (Hissom) Yergin.
Donna graduated from Wellsville High School in 1965. She spent most of her life as a homemaker taking care of her children and grandchildren. Donna found great joy in painting ceramics and doing crafts with her grandchildren. Her family was the light of her life, and she enjoyed any and all time she was able to spend with them. She was a proud member of The Living Well Church where she was also active in the women's group LIFT, card club with her many dear friends, and The Red Hat Society. She will be missed by all who loved her.
Survivors include her three daughters: Terry Woyan and her husband, Tim, Catherine Yergin, and Erin Huddlestun and her life partner, Robert Lisk, all of Wellsville; and six grandchildren: Amanda Woyan-Tuttle and her husband, Tim, Jacob Woyan, Tracer Yergin, Tanner Yergin, Jonathan Huddlestun, and Grace Huddlestun. Donna is also survived by her sister with whom she shared a special bond, Patricia Sherman and her husband, Harry; two sisters-in-law: Debbie Cross and Sonnie Cross; seven nieces and nephews: Ed Cross, Eric (Valerie) Cross, Sharma (Greg) Carter, Michael Cross, Sarah Cross, Luke (Brenda) Sherman, and Michele Truax Yergin; eleven great-nieces and great-nephews: Kalee (Dakota) Stedman, Kaden Cross, Emma, Hannah, and Will Carter, Lucian Cross, Nora Gibbs, Mackenzie and Alex Sherman, and Dominic and Billy Yergin; as well as many cousins and loving and cherished friends.
The funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm on Thursday, October 3, 2019, at the Roberts Funeral Home with Pastor Dirk Hall of The Living Well Church officiating.
Burial will be in Bethel Presbyterian Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4:00 - 8:00 pm on Wednesday at the Roberts Funeral Home, 631 Main Street in Wellsville.
