Wellsville: Patricia Clara “Patty” McCune Gibson

Patricia Clara McCuen Gibson, 67, of Wellsville, Ohio, more affectionately known as “Aunt Pat” to many, passed away peacefully at her home. Patricia was born August 27, 1950 in Wellsville, Ohio.  She  graduated from Wellsville High School in 1969. She was a homemaker and employed throughout a significant portion of her life at Riverview Florist.  Patty was a lifelong member of Lee’s Chapel AME Church and the Order of The Eastern Star.

Patricia was preceded in death by her father and mother: Marvel and Beatrice McCuen; two brothers: Gordon Harris and Forest Harris; and two sisters: Faye Harris and Georgeann Harris Clark.

Patricia will forever be remembered by her devoted family: brother, Marvel “Morris” and Linda McCuen, sister, Olivia McCuen, sister-in-law, Jean Harris, and Milton and Kay Wolfe. 

Her legacy will live on through her beloved children: Marvine’ Brown and husband Michael Brown, Ernest Gibson, III and wife Marcia Gibson, and Damond Gibson.  Memories will be treasured by grandchildren: Colton McCuen, Mayah McCuen, Marchael Brown, Etta Guthrie, Crosby Guthrie, Amira Gibson; and great granddaughter, Nevaeh Patricia McCuen, along with a host of devoted nieces, nephews and friends. 

Patricia was creative, loved the arts, gardening, laughing, and being surrounded by family and friends.  She touched the lives of many people with her smile, generosity, kindness and her trademark sense of humor. 

Funeral services for Patty will be held on Saturday, April 28, 2018, at 11:00 AM at the Lee’s Chapel AME Church with Pastor Dirk Hall officiating.

The Roberts Funeral Home is entrusted with Patty’s arrangements.
