
Obituary of Carter Lee Van Dyke, Sr.
Carter Lee Van Dyke, Sr, 60, of Lisbon, passed away on Monday, May 13, 2019, at the Cleveland Clinic due to complications from surgery.
He was born on March 28, 1959, in East Liverpool, the son of the late William and Carole (Kellogg) Van Dyke I.
Carter attended Beaver Local High School and was a sandblaster, painter, and maintanence supervisor for Murray-H&F Trucking before retiring.
He was an avid Harley-Davidson enthusiast and liked sitting around a campfire with his family and friends enjoying a Bud Light. He and his wife, Linda, attended many poker runs and enjoyed old cars, four wheeling, and trucking with friends. His main passion was his family and grandbabies.
Survivors Include the love of his life, Linda (Kidder) Van Dyke, whom he married April 7, 1984; one son, Carter Lee Van Dyke, Jr. and his fiancee, Brittany Reckner, of Summittville; two daughters: Windy Tanner and her husband, William, of Chester, WV, and Lindsey Van Dyke and her fiancé, Bobby Shaffer, of Lisbon; three sisters: Diane Decker and her fiancé, Lenny, of Richmond, Kathleen Messenger of East Liverpool, and Della (Bill) Snyder of Wellsville; and two brothers: William Van Dyke II of Wellsville and Mark (Holly) Van Dyke of Wellsville. Also surviving are three grandchildren: Brooklynn Sullivan, Maddalynn Shaffer, and Warrick Tanner.
The funeral service will be held at 4:00 pm on Sunday, May 19, 2019, at the Roberts Funeral Home, 631 Main Street in Wellsville.
Friends may call two hours prior to the service on Sunday at the funeral home.
There will be a funeral procession after the service so Carter can have one last ride with his family and friends. Following the procession, there will be a celebration of Carter's life at the Wellsville Alumni Center.
Carter is in Heaven with his best buddy and brother-in-law, Lonnie Kidder, having fun ‘til the end.
