Obituary of Shelba J. Malone

Shelba J. Malone

 

WELLSVILLE - Shelba J. Malone, 79, of Wellsville, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, March 21, 2019, at St. Mary's Alzheimers Center in Columbiana.

 

She was born March 16, 1940, in Wellsville, the daughter of the late Clyde and Goldie (Wallace) Miller. In addition to her parents, Shelba was preceded in death by two brothers: Larry Miller and Stan Miller.

 

Shelba graduated from Wellsville High School in 1958, and she was employed for seven years as a clerk for Genuine Parts. She was active in the Wellsville community, having been a member of the Wellsville Arts Club and volunteering her time as an election polls worker. Shelba was also a volunteer at Garfield Elementary School with the Ohio Reads Program. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading and gardening. Shelba was a member of Riverside Presbyterian Church.

 

Survivors include her husband, Gary Malone, whom she married August 26, 1961; her daughter, Heather Poling and her husband, Allen, of Sagamore Hills, OH; and her son, Michael Malone and his fiancee, Amy Black, of Wellsville. Also surviving are three grandchildren: Craig Poling, Heather Bradley, and Teresa Black; and three great-grandchildren: Madison, Jakson, and Adalyn. Shelba is also survived by her godson, Matthew Miller and his wife, Mary Jane.                   
 

The funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Sunday, March 24, 2019, at the Roberts Funeral Home with Rev. Duane Hetzer of Riverside Presbyterian Church officiating.

 

Burial will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery.

 

Friends may call from 4:00-8:00 pm Saturday at the Roberts Funeral Home, 631 Main Street in Wellsville.

 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made in Shelba's name to: St. Mary's Alzheimers Center, 1899 West Garfield Road, Columbiana, OH  44408.
