Obituary of Raymond Rolley

Raymond Joseph "Pick" Rolley, Sr.

 

COLUMBIANA - Raymond Joseph "Pick" Rolley, Sr., 79, of Columbiana, formerly of Wellsville, passed away Saturday, February 2, 2019, at his home following a lengthy illness.

 

He was born August 24, 1939, in East Liverpool, the son of the late Raymond and Helen (McKenna) Rolley.

 

Raymond graduated from Wellsville High School in 1957 and from Adrian College in 1961 with a Bachelors Degree. He then graduated from the University of Akron with a Masters Degree in Education, and he went on to obtain his Superintendent's Certificate from the University of Dayton at Steubenville. Pick was employed for twenty-eight years in the Wellsville Local School District, first as a teacher, and later as the superintendent, before his retirement in 1994. He was a life member of the Wellsville Elks Lodge 1040, a founding 100 member of the Wellsville Alumni Scholarship Association, and he was inducted into the Wellsville Athletic Hall of Fame in 2008. He was Catholic by faith.

 

Survivors include his wife, Shirley A. (Beohm) Rolley, whom he married October 12, 2008; one daughter, Beth Kuhar and her husband, Greg, of Highlandtown; one son, Raymond J. Rolley, Jr. and his wife, Judie, of Cincinnati, OH; two step-daughters: Michelle Wyle and her husband, Milon, of Cocoa Beach, FL, and Keristen Musser and her husband, Tony, of New Brighton, PA; and one sister, Linda Weekley and her husband, Jeff, of Wellsville. Also surviving are nine grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
 

The Catholic Funeral Rite will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, February 7, 2019, at the Roberts Funeral Home with Rev. Bernard Gaeta officiating.

 

Burial will be in St. Elizabeth Cemetery.

 

Friends may call from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 pm on Wednesday at the Roberts Funeral Home, 631 Main Street in Wellsville.
