Matthew F. Rose
HAMMONDSVILLE - Matthew F. Rose, 46, of Hammondsville, passed away suddenly Thursday, January 31, 2019, at his home of an apparent heart attack.
He was born June 23, 1972, in Canton, the devoted son of Kenneth A. and Patricia L. (Young) Rose of Hammondsville.
Matt graduated from Edison North High School in 1990 and The University of Akron in 1995 with a Bachelor of Science degree. He was employed as a bricklayer for Bricklayers Union Local 8 in Youngstown. Matt was adventurous, fun-loving, and an avid outdoorsman, enjoying his time as a farmer and steward of the land. He was a lifelong area resident and was well-known and respected in his community. He served three terms as a Brush Creek Township trustee, during which time he spent nine years working to improve the township for the benefit of all. He was a member of the F&AM Lodge 348 in Salineville, and he attended Grant Hill Church.
In addition to his parents, Matt is also survived by his two brothers: Brent Rose of Hammondsville, and Greg Rose and his wife, Debbie, of Nicholasville, KY. He was a kick-ass uncle to his nephews and niece: Liam Rose of Hammondsville, and Phillip and Ashlee Rose of Nicholasville, KY. Matt will also be sadly missed by his fiancee, Patty McAdoo, of Hammondsville, and her two sons: Christopher and Cody McAdoo.
The funeral service will be held at 6:00 pm on Monday, February 4, 2019, at the Roberts Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Hoobler officiating.
Friends may call from 5:00-8:00 pm on Sunday and 4:00-6:00 pm on Monday at the Roberts Funeral Home, 631 Main Street in Wellsville.
