Obituary of Margaret J. Wellington

Margaret J. "Peg" Wellington

 

WINTERSVILLE - Margaret J. "Peg" Wellington, 86, of Wintersville, formerly of Wellsville, passed away Sunday, January 27, 2019, at Dixon Health Care Center in Wintersville.

 

She was born May 29, 1932, in East Liverpool, the daughter of the late Leo and Rosella (Campbell) Hughes. In addition to her parents, Peg was preceded in death on May 11, 2011, by her husband, Robert E. "Bob" Wellington, whom she married August 18, 1950. She was also preceded in death by two sons: Craig Wellington and Robert Bruce Wellington; and one brother, Leo Keith Hughes.

 

Peg graduated from East Liverpool High School in 1950. She was employed as a clerk for Frank's Carry Out. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and Yellow Creek Presbyterian Church.

 

Survivors include two sons: Jeffrey Hays Wellington and his wife, Patty, of Clarksville, TN, and Leo Scott Wellington and his wife, Kelly, of Cortland, OH; her daughter-in-law, Judy Wellington; and one brother, Robert Hughes of East Liverpool. Also surviving are ten grandchildren and twenty-one great-grandchildren.
 

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, February 1, 2019, at the Roberts Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Blakeley of the Wellsville First Christian Church officiating.

 

Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.

 

Friends may call from 3:00-7:00 pm on Thursday at the Roberts Funeral Home, 631 Main Street in Wellsville.
