Obituary of Lewis Board

Lewis Richard “Dick” Board

IRONDALE - Lewis Richard “Dick” Board, 90, of Irondale, passed away Saturday, September 15, 2018, at his home.

He was born December 31, 1927, in Irondale, the son of the late Frank and Ruth (Crawford) Board. In addition to his parents, Dick was preceded in death by two sons: Richard Grant Board and Gregory Allen Board; and his sister, Ruth Ann Clutter.

Dick was a bulldozer operator for Ohio Edison (First Energy) Sammis Plant.  He was a member of the Jenkins Lodge Free and Accepted Masons.

Survivors include his wife, Roselyn Joyce (Abrams) Board, whom he married May 21, 1949; one son, Joe Board and his wife, Melissa, of Toronto; four sisters: Patsy Zacharias of Wellsville,  Jean Cassidy of Salineville,  Linda Crews of Wellsville, and Sandy Dorsey of Richmond; four brothers: Frank Board of Highlandtown, Harlan (Barbara) Board of Hammondsville, David Board of Hammondsville, and William Board of Irondale; and one daughter-in-law, Glenda Board of Irondale. Also surviving are nine grandchildren: Grant Board, Amy Patterson, Glenn Board, Kari Speedy, Justin Board, Rachel Mullen, Luke Board, Wesley Crawford, and Dusty Crawford.

The funeral service will be held at 5:00 pm Tuesday, September 18, 2018, at the Roberts Funeral Home with Chaplain Leo Gonot of Southern Care Hospice officiating.

Friends may call on Tuesday from 2:00-5:00 pm at the Roberts Funeral Home, 631 Main Street in Wellsville.

Burial will be in Hammondsville Cemetery.
