Obituary of Betty J. Stoffel

WELLSVILLE - Betty J. Stoffel, 84, of Wellsville, died Friday, September 3, 2010, at East Liverpool City Hospital following a lengthy illness. She was born October 30, 1925, in East Liverpool, the daughter of the late George H. and Mary E. (Hazelet) Crawford. Betty graduated from Wellsville High School in 1943. She and her husband Charley owned and operated Hillcrest Floral for 25 years. She was a member of the Wellsville Lady Elks Lodge #1040, Eastern Star, American Legion Post 70, and VFW Post 5647. Survivors include her husband, Charles M. "Charley" Stoffel, whom she married June 10, 1946; and two sons: George Stoffel (Paula) of Lisbon, and Charles P. Stoffel of Wellsville. Also surviving are three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by one sister: Ethel M. "Curly" Hill; and one brother: Dwight Crawford. The funeral service will be held at 6:00 pm Tuesday at the Roberts Funeral Home with Reverend Bill Betteridge of Riverside Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial will be in Yellow Creek Cemetery. Friends may call from 2:00-6:00 pm Tuesday at the Roberts Funeral Home, 631 Main Street in Wellsville.
