James D. "Jim" Stewart

 

IRONDALE - James D. "Jim" Stewart, 82, of Irondale, passed away at his home surrounded by his family on Saturday, January 15, 2022, following a lengthy illness.

 

He was born October 26, 1939, in East Liverpool, the son of the late Donald and Evelyn (Rouse) Stewart. In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by two grandchildren: Angela Nicole Dean and Caleb Scott Dean; and one brother, Donald Stewart.

 

Jim was employed for twenty-five years as an operator repairman for Sammis Plant/First Energy before his retirement in 1998. He enjoyed working with his hands and was an expert at woodworking. He also loved to tend to his garden. Jim was a member of Hammondsville United Methodist Church. 

 

Survivors include his wife, Linda K. (Workman) Stewart, whom he married May 3, 1985; one son, James A. (Carolyn) Stewart of Florida; four daughters: Sharon Beatty of Steubenville, Darla Sue (Dean) McConnell of Irondale, Dawn R. (Loren) Pipo of Irondale, and Julie E. (Mike) Rudy of Toronto; one brother, David L. Stewart of Wellsville; and two sisters: Kay (Bill) Boyles of Florida and JoAnn (Paul) Barnes of Toronto. Also surviving are nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

 

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, January 20, 2022, at the Roberts Funeral Home with Pastor Dan Crowe of the church officiating.

 

Burial will follow in Hammondsville Cemetery.

 

Family and friends may call from 2:00-4:00 pm and 6:00-8:00 pm on Wednesday at the Roberts Funeral Home, 631 Main Street in Wellsville.
