WELLSVILLE - Parma Ludwig, 75, of Wellsville, passed away Friday, April 26, 2019, at East Liverpool City Hospital.


She was born June 17, 1943, in East Liverpool, the daughter of the late James Stewart.  In addition to her father, Parma was preceded in death by her grandparents, Frank and Grace Wilson, by whom she was raised.  She was also preceded in death by her sister, Dorothy Morgan, and her long time companion, Bob Keys.


Parma graduated from Wellsville High School in 1961. She was employed as a clerk and supervisor for over thirty years with J.C. Penney Co. in East Liverpool until her retirement. Following her retirement, she worked as a teller at Mountaineer Race Track and Gaming Resort. Parma enjoyed volunteering her time and was instrumental in helping to implement the Tiger Den reading program at Garfield Elementary School in Wellsville. She dearly loved helping the students learn to read, and they adored her. Parma was well loved by all of the teachers and staff at the school. In addition to her volunteer work at Garfield, she kept busy volunteering and helping in many other places. Parma was also an avid fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes. She was a member of Riverside Presbyterian Church where she enjoyed her time assisting with the pie bakers.


Parma was known for her infectious and unique laugh that would have everyone around her laughing, too. She was a spunky, kind, and generous person who was dearly loved by many people.


Survivors include one daughter, Paige Ludwig, of New Albany, OH; and two brothers: Jim (Betty) Wilson of Wellsville, and Tom Hunter, also of Wellsville. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends whom she considered family. 

The funeral service will be held at 6:00 pm on Wednesday, May 1, 2019, at the Roberts Funeral Home with Pastor Duane Hetzer of the church officiating.


Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.


Friends may call from 12:00-2:00 pm and 4:00-6:00 pm on Wednesday at the Roberts Funeral Home, 631 Main Street in Wellsville.
