The Roberts Funeral Home has been family owned and operated since 1972. Previously the Haugh Funeral Home (1880 -1973), we have been at our location at 631 Main Street since 1924. The funeral home was operated by first generation funeral directors, Bill and June Roberts, for 18 years before they turned it over to their son, Bill, in 1990.
We pride ourselves in the dedicated services we provide to all of our families. At Roberts Funeral Home, we can arrange for and provide all types of funeral services, from direct burial or cremation to a traditional funeral service with calling hours, and everything in between. We are skilled at handling out-of-state and international death calls, and we are the only local funeral home to have handled arrangements for a victim of the 9/11 terror attacks on the United States.
The funeral home itself was built in 1905 by a contractor for his own personal home. It has 28 rooms on three floors. The main floor is used for the visitation and funerals. We have one main viewing room in the front of the funeral home, and a second, private viewing room in the rear of the funeral home. We also have a separate building that can be used for calling hours and funerals and can seat approximately 250 people in one room. We use that same building for making arrangements and are pleased to be able to offer a casket showroom with approximately fifteen full-size caskets. We feel it is very important for our families to see and touch the full casket. All of our facilities are handicap accessible. Recently, we purchased and raised four buildings across Main Street to be able to construct a parking lot for our families.
Through the support of the community, Roberts Funeral Home is able to award numerous scholarships each year to graduating seniors from Wellsville High School to assist with their college education. We are also able to support local schools, community organizations, and individuals making a difference in our community through monetary donations.
Our main focus at the funeral home is taking care of our families. We are here during your time of need and will do everything we can to make the funeral process as easy as we can. Our goal is to provide the best possible service and experience to our families at the most difficult time of their life. We personally answer our phones 24 hours a day, seven days a week, so you’ll be talking to us and not an answering service. We try to keep the business end of the arrangements to a minimum so that the family can focus on other more important priorities at this time.
Please find available on our website more information about services we can provide, our location and directions, and obituaries. If you have any questions, please feel free to give us a call any time at 330-532-1569.
Services: Roberts Funeral Home prides itself on being able to offer all types of services to their families. From traditional and personalized to cremation, we are here to serve your needs and to provide the type of service that you want.
Traditional Services: The most common selection, traditional services include calling hours and a funeral with the deceased present, typically concluding in a ground burial.
Cremation Services: There are many options when it comes to cremation. An individual may choose a direct cremation in which there are no calling hours or funeral service, a direct cremation with a memorial service in which the cremated remains can either be present or absent, cremation with a traditional service which includes calling hours and a funeral, or cremation with one hour of visitation prior to a funeral service. There are many ways to personalize these options to meet your needs.
Direct Burial – This option includes a ground burial without any calling hours or funeral service.
Graveside/Chapel Services – This option includes a graveside or chapel service only at the cemetery.
Out-of-State Deaths – Our funeral home is skilled in handling an out-of-state death. We will take care of all of the necessary arrangements, including the transportation to our funeral home, so that you are not burdened with any other details.
Pet Services – We at Roberts Funeral Home know how important your pet is to you. We handle pet burials and cremations with the same care as if they were human.
Pre-Arrangements – It is very important to discuss your final wishes with your family. We provide pre-arrangement conferences for our families so that they can decide upon their final arrangements and have all of the details taken care of so that their family is not burdened with that responsibility when a death occurs. We offer the option to either pre-fund the final expenses, or to fund the expenses at the time of service.
Other Services – We provide many more services to our families to help personalize the funeral service. These services include, but are not limited to:
Memories on TV photo DVDs to be viewed during the calling hours
Thumbies and Buddies
Necklaces, bracelets, key chains, earrings, tie tacks, rings, etc. that are made from the fingerprint of the deceased. These can also be made for babies, children, and pets. These can also be generated from a fingerprint from a discharge paper from the service or from a birth certificate.
Madelyn Cremation Jewelry
Charms that are hollow and can be filled with cremated remains.
Veterans Services including the folding and presenting of the American flag, the playing of Taps, and a 21 gun salute
Policeman and Fireman services
Please ask us about other ways to personalize the funeral service. We will try our best to meet your every request.
