James Douglas “Doug” Elliott
WELLSVILLE - James Douglas “Doug” Elliott, 56, of Wellsville, passed away Wednesday, December 13, 2017, at Salem Regional Medical Center.
He was born March 28, 1961, in East Liverpool, the son of James and Mary Ann (Welch) Elliott of Wellsville.
Doug graduated from Wellsville High School in 1979. He was employed for thirty-three years as a firefighter for Wellsville Fire Department and Wellsville Volunteer Fire Department before retiring in 2013.
In addition to his parents, Doug is survived by his wife, Kandy (Mitchell) Elliott, whom he married August 2, 2000; one daughter, Chelsea Elliott of East Liverpool; one son, Chad Elliott of Wellsville; one step-daughter, Sanna Surace of Wellsville; one step-son, Steven Knowles and his wife, Beth, of East Liverpool; and two brothers: Ron Elliott and his wife, Kathy, of East Liverpool, and Don Elliott and his wife, Karen, of Wellsville. Also surviving are five grandchildren: Johnathan, Madison, Gio, Aubrey, and Cheyenne.
Doug was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Mary and Bud Welch, and his paternal grandparents, Gene and Ibby Heil.
The funeral service will be held at 7:00 pm Saturday, December 16, 2017, at the Roberts Funeral Home with Pastor Kenneth Maylone of the Wellsville United Methodist Church officiating.
Friends may call from 3:00-7:00 pm Saturday at the Roberts Funeral Home, 631 Main Street in Wellsville.
