Marion A. “Mac” Comparetto
WELLSVILLE - Marion A. “Mac” Comparetto, 75, of Wellsville, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, March 13, 2018, in the emergency room at East Liverpool City Hospital from an apparent heart attack.
He was born March 12, 1943, in Wellsville, the son of the late Domenic and Rose (Chefalo) Comparetto. In addition to his parents, Mac was preceded in death by two sisters: Theresa Rawlings and Patricia Cook; and one brother, John Comparetta.
Mac graduated from Wellsville High School in 1961 and served in the United States Navy from 1961-1965. He graduated from Ohio Valley Business College in 1991 with a degree in computer science. Mac had been employed for fifteen years on the street department for the village of Wellsville before retiring in 2005. For the last few years, Mac and his wife, Debbie, enjoyed attending vendor fairs and fundraisers to showcase their decorated wine bottles through their business, Bella Pelle. He was a member of the Wellsville Sons of Italy Lodge 657 and was past president of the SOI Grand Lodge of Ohio. To say Mac was an avid fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes would be a vast understatement because he loved his Buckeyes. He was also a member of Hope Christian Fellowship Church.
Survivors include his wife, Deborah “Debbie” (McCune) Comparetto, whom he married February 14, 1984; one daughter, Domenique Comparetto and her husband, Steve Comstock, of Junction City, KS; two sisters: Delores “DJ” Podwel and her husband, Barry, of Wellsville, and Rosemary Comparetto of Panama City, FL; and one brother, Domenic “Mick” Comparetto and his wife, Linda, of Wellsville. Mac also leaves behind his faithful canine companion, Pino.
The funeral service will be held at 5:00 pm Saturday, March 17, 2018, at the Roberts Funeral Home with Pastor Don Lytle of the church officiating.
