Ethan Russell Ferguson
WELLSVILLE - Ethan Russell Ferguson, 16, of Wellsville, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, March 6, 2018, from injuries sustained in a train accident.
He was born November 15, 2001, in Salem, the son of Timothy L. Ferguson of Calcutta and Jaclyn (Koch) Childers and her husband, Adam, of Wellsville.
Ethan was a sophomore at Wellsville High School and was in the process of transferring to East Palestine High School. He had a love for the game of football and was a proud member of the Wellsville High School Football team. Ethan was also a member of the track and field team, was an avid weightlifter, and was in the high school choir. He loved playing his Xbox and was a huge fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, especially Le’Veon Bell. He was a member of the Wellsville First Christian Church. Ethan had many passions and hobbies in his life, but he will most fondly be remembered for his smile that not only lit up a room but also made his bright blue eyes shine.
In addition to his parents and step-father, Ethan is survived by his brother, Connor S. Childers of Wellsville; maternal grandparents, Robert and Debbie Ober; paternal grandmother, Tammy Newman Walworth; great-grandparents: Larry and Evelyn Munyon; aunts: Stephanie Koch, Tiffany (Billy) Marvin, Tanya Barnhart, Julie (Keith) Richael, and Brenda and Kristy Munyon; and cousins: Alison and Kelton Enos, Adam Leaf, and Gage Bush.
Ethan was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Robert J. Koch, and his great-grandparents, Frank and Cleta Newman.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, March 13, 2018, at the Wellsville First Christian Church with Pastor Mark Blakeley of the church officiating.
Burial will be in New Waterford Cemetery.
Friends may call from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 pm Monday at the Wellsville First Christian Church, 831 Main Street in Wellsville.
The Roberts Funeral Home in Wellsville is entrusted with Ethan’s arrangements.
